Description
Timed, Automatic Dispensers are ideal for use in many unoccupied spaces where flying insects are a problem. They provide a flexible spray solution and are easy to programme. The LED and LCD options allow aerosols to be dispensed on selected days of the week and between selected time periods at prescribed intervals.
The active ingredient
The cannister contains pyrethrins, natural insecticidal substances purified from chrysanthemum flowers. These flowers have been available in Europe for over 150 years and in their powdered form were used as louse and flea powders. It is only in the last 50 years that liquid concentrates for public health pest control have appeared. Pyrethrins cause rapid knockdown of insects followed shortly by death. The mode of action is by contact action, the toxic effect is caused by the binding of pyrethrins to sodium channels which inhibits the insect’s nervous system. This mode of action leads to a broad-spectrum of insecticidal activity, and due to the non-persistence of the active ingredient in the environment, insect resistance is very rare.
Precautions
For use only as an insecticide. This product is approved under The Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986 for use as directed. If there is evidence of Bats present then space treatment insecticides MUST NOT be used. Prevent Auto is not a normal aerosol – you cannot hold the button down for continuous release of the product.
